Woodlands Park Community Kindergarten
Woodlands Park Kindergarten is located in Minnehaha Avenue, Woodlands Park, a quiet cul-de-sac in the Titirangi area. Trees, grass, beautiful fresh air, peace and nature all contribute to creating an environment that encourages young tamariki to experience, share and understand their world.
We offer early learning for 2 to 5 year olds to try new activities, have messy play, dance and sing, play games, explore new interests, go on group outings, celebrate special occasions and make new friends in a supportive, nurturing and caring environment. We encourage tuakana teina relationships to empower tamariki, strengthen their mana and encourage them to take a role in the environment. We provide an environment where tamariki feel safe to make mistakes, take risks, and develop their working theories in their own time and way, therefore being responsible for their own learning experiences.
In honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi, kaiako commit to working with whanau in the spirit of partnership and the acceptance of obligations for participation and protection. We implement te reo me ngā tikanga Māori in our daily practices, ensuring tamariki develop an understanding of the histories and cultures of Aotearoa. Our curriculum framework Te Whāriki is woven strongly into our philosophy. We embrace cultural diversity and seek to acknowledge the language and cultures of individual tamariki in our learning environment.
Our kindergarten is an independent, registered charity community group run by a management board of parents, elected annually. We aim to deliver high quality early childhood education to the youngest members of our community.
